Press Release

AdExchanger and AdMonsters name the duo to annual list of industry titans

Acast, the world’s largest independent podcast company, today announced that Global Head of Ad Innovation Elli Dimitroulakos and Executive Producer of Acast Creative Shantae Howell have been honored as recipients of the Top Women in Media and Ad Tech awards presented by AdExchanger and AdMonsters. The awards celebrate women across media and advertising who have made a lasting impact as well as represent the diversity and progress in the industry.

As an honoree of the Data Demystifiers category, Dimitroulakos is awarded for her success in leveraging insights to drive industry-first tech innovations and partnerships that drive podcasting forward. Specifically, Dimitroulakos led the charge in Acast’s work with The Trade Desk to identify the overlaps between podcasting and CTV audiences, enabling advertisers who use The Trade Desk’s Household Graph to extend their reach into podcasts. Dimitroulakos also spearheaded Acast’s first-to-market first party data targeting solution, which allows advertisers to use their own first party data to accurately target podcast audiences. Additionally, Dimitroulakos is recognized for this award for the pivotal role she played in bringing Acast’s Conversational Targeting capabilities to market.

“Podcasting remains a rapidly-growing and evolving space, making data-driven decisioning vital to everything we do at Acast,” said Global Head of Ad Innovation at Acast Elli Dimitroulakos. “This award is emblematic of how important insights are to advertising and brand storytelling today and I’m honored to be recognized along with such an impressive group of women in this industry.”

Awarded in the DEI Champions category, Howell is honored for the leading role she played in launching the Acast Creative brand across the Americas. Howell has not only led the charge for Acast’s creative advertising vision within the region, she has also pioneered creative brand storytelling in the audio industry. Since launching Acast Creative in 2021 in the US, Howell has continued to demonstrate her commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices in podcasting. She has led the team and Acast’s community of podcasters to overwhelming success by securing branded content partnerships with major brands including: Macy’s, Martell Blue Swift, Klarna, State Farm, Self Financial, and more.

“Telling the stories of the communities that champion your brand is the first step to telling a great story. With a footprint in nearly every corner of the globe, Acast champions these diverse stories and creative ways to tell them for both brands and podcasters, “ said Executive Producer of Acast Creative Shantae Howell. “I’m incredibly proud of this recognition, as it is a true testament to the brillant stories this Acast Creative team has brought to life.”

Dimitroulakos and Howell will be celebrated alongside other honorees on June 5 in New York City.
