"One Minute Remaining" Teams up with Acast and Wondercraft to Bring Hit Podcast to Spanish-Speaking Audiences Using AI

This is some text inside of a div block.

Generative AI technology opens up podcasting to engage new audiences for global storytelling experiences

Acast, the world's leading independent podcast company, Wondercraft, the AI powered creative audio studio, and the hit true crime podcast "One Minute Remaining" are joining forces to introduce the originally English language show to Spanish speakers globally.

"One Minute Remaining," hosted by former Australian radio personality Jack Laurence, has captivated audiences with its unique take on the true crime genre, which features interviews with incarcerated individuals in the United States. Since its launch in September 2022, the show has amassed an impressive four million downloads, underscoring its widespread appeal. Recognizing the potential to reach new audiences, Laurence embraced the idea of creating a Spanish-language version of his podcast.

"During a visit to the Acast offices in Sydney, Guy (Acast Australia's head of content) suggested exploring a Spanish version," Laurence said. "While I was initially hesitant about AI in the creative space, the technology has proven incredible, allowing my show to be accessible to Spanish speakers while preserving my voice and creative vision."

Guy Scott-Wilson, Acast Australia’s Content Director, shared his enthusiasm for the project.

"Stories created by humans, for humans, are what makes the creator economy so powerful. At Acast, we believe there is a place for generative AI to enhance that human storytelling

experience, rather than replace it. AI is helping break down barriers and bring popular podcasts to wider international audiences, opening doors to new listeners worldwide, and ultimately enriching the podcast landscape," Scott-Wilson said.

Oskar Serrander, co-founder and CEO at Wondercraft added: "We are on a mission to help more brands and storytellers voice their human ideas without expensive equipment or language barriers. Doing this with a fantastic creator like Jack on the leading global podcast marketplace makes us extra proud today.”

The Spanish-language version, "Un Minuto Restante” is available now on all major podcast platforms.
